Community Development

Girl, family, village

Compass Rose works through a simple but powerful progression: girl, family, village.

The idea is that lasting change rarely comes from helping one person in isolation. When a girl has access to education, safety, mentorship and opportunity, the impact can extend into her family and eventually into the wider community around her.

That is why the work reaches beyond the classroom. Supporting a child can also mean helping create a safe place to live, strengthening the household around her, improving access to food and income, and reducing the conditions that can leave girls vulnerable to trafficking, early marriage or leaving school.

The goal is not simply to provide short term assistance. It is to help create the stability that allows girls, families and communities to build stronger futures for themselves.

  • Education and school support
  • Residential housing and safety
  • Mentorship and life skills
  • Agriculture and food security
  • Economic stability for families
  • Anti-trafficking prevention

Residential housing and safety

Providing safe, stable environments for girls who may otherwise face significant barriers to remaining in school or living securely.

Mentorship and life skills

Supporting confidence, leadership, independence and the practical skills girls can carry with them throughout their lives.

Agriculture and food security

Strengthening families through access to agriculture, food production and community based solutions that improve long term stability.

Economic stability for families

Helping households build more reliable sources of income so financial hardship does not become a reason for children to leave school or become vulnerable to exploitation.

Anti-trafficking prevention

Addressing the underlying conditions that can place girls at risk by strengthening education, family stability, community support and economic opportunity.

Support the girl. Strengthen the family. Build a stronger village.
